Max Slinger – Alpine Ski Racer

0

Following ongoing problems with a stress fracture in my right Fibula in New Zealand in 2011 and breaking a bit off my hip at the start of 2012 I have had to retire from the sport of ski racing. I am recovering well following a hip surgery in August and am finishing my degree in Business Management while I rehabilitate.

I have loved my skiing career and many thanks to all those who helped me represent GB over the years and have a cracking time doing so. Everyone involved you made it that way! I made many great friends who I hope to see again, I wish you all the best and keep loving the White stuff! :)

Hello, welcome to my website where you can find out what I do and how it’s going!

As an alpine ski racer I compete in several disciplines – slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom and the super combined (one run slalom and one run of super giant slalom). Slalom and giant slalom are the “technical” events whilst super g and super combined are more speed orientated, sometimes exceeding 70mph (and usually with bigger crashes)!

Equipment for each discipline differs ranging from the smaller shorter skis for the slalom to the much larger ones needed for the faster disciplines with protective gear being worn for all events.

To see what I do check out the Gallery where there are a few pictures on and off the piste!
