Season sadly to end from injury but I’ve had some good times

The races in France were a good opportunity to do well. I had good conditions and I felt my mentality and skiing was improving with each run, however it’s nowhere near how it should have been. My best result from the seven races this season is a 120 which is terrible, I nearly scored that at the end of my first 12 months in ski racing! The groin injury and the ankle have both been playing up and with it being so late in the season the coaches have Read More

Fasnact aka Car-ni-val in town!

To my amazement carnival has arrived to Brunnen!      Named ‘Fasnact’, each week for a month a different village stages a parade in its streets with fancy dress as monsters, celebrities and alike. Brass bands with big drums make up a large proportion of the parade and they drive down the street throwing confetti and oranges to people! I wasn’t really on the hunt for these oranges but still caught six or seven and enjoyed a Read More

Penguins… Finally!!

After three years of coming to NZ i finally saw what I wanted to see…  Penguins!!! I went to Twizel with Willis for a couple of days and we went to a place called Oamaru. Wild and Wet West Coast

The Feasey’s were invited to a friend’s birthday up on the West Coast at Haast last night.  Ever fantastic they kindly took me with them and offered to show me around a bit as well. We arrived and had a cool time partying in an aeroplane hangar on the airfield stuffed with Crayfish, firewood and Booze (what more could you ask for haha!!) Then we went down to sleep on the beach under the stars!! I slept surprisingly well considering there Read More

High Flying about Wanaka

I went for an unexpected scenic flight around Lake Wanaka and the area today which was awesome. As congratulations for winning the races at Cardrona my homeboy Wills was offered a flight and +1 from the lovely Susie Austen. Of course knowing where his loyalties lay he took me and we had an awesome flight on such a bright and sunny day at the mountains (and sheep) in this bit of Otago. Thank you very much Willis and Susie!!

Penguin Hunt!!!!!

We had a day off yesterday and teammate Tim Bowman was going home to see his dad in Timaru before he went to Auckland for a while and he asked if I wanted to come! I of course said yes and so we went for a road trip up to the east coast, picking fellow teammate Willis up from the tiny town of Twizel on the way. I was hoping to find penguins Timaru but they’d been scared off by someone else already. Not that I really fancied climbing about the Read More
